Summary
Blended learning means different thing to different people, but at its core seems to come down to some kind of joint use of different types of technology in a learning situation. It can be used to slowly move students to online learning incrementally. Several ways this is being done are as follows:
- online assessments
- long-term discussion for a community of practice after a learning event
- accessibility of resource materials
- pre-work
- online office hours
- mentoring/coaching
- job aids/integration of new skills for successful implementation
- access to experts
- email distribution lists for contact before, during and after learning sessions
